Since those multiple tragedies of September 11th, many folks throughout this seemingly out-of-control world have begun to realize a need to believe in something greater than ourselves; a Creator, perhaps -- One who is ever-present and not afar off; One who is sovereign and not impotent; One who may indeed be guiding the events of history, and ultimately securing order out of the increasing chaos, with divine purpose -- a truly personal wisdom; One readily accessible; One who can make sense of the senseless, who can reassure the fearful, comfort the grief-stricken, lift the hearts of the weary, and, in the best of all scenarios, intervene when this world gets out of hand. And, ultimately, One who can give all of our lives real meaning. Something beyond self-interest.
In other parts of my website I have mainly attempted to share my music. On this page, however, it is my desire to share with you the source of my own faith, as well as those wondrous songs, hymns, and melodies which have helped to strengthen me, enabling me to withstand profuse and profound changes, as well as endure the ridicule of those more self-sufficient.
If you do not presently have need of something
greater than yourself in your own life, please feel free to GO
BACK now.
You may always return should your feelings
should change.
Those of you who are still interested, however, please take from this page whatever you may need, for what is here has been graciously and undeservedly given to me, so that I may share it in the true spirit of Love with all of you...

"For by grace you have been saved through
faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, not works,
lest any one should boast..."

“Kiss the Son, Lest He be Angry” By Richard Bennett and Robert Nicholson
The following hymn was inspired by the Old Testament book of Isaiah
(late 8th century b.c.), chapter 53, which paints a hauntingly accurate
portrait of One Man who would come to save others through His own suffering
and death by crucifixion---a
means of torture not yet devised for another 700 years....

Man of Sorrows,
What a Name
Words & Music: Philip P. Bliss, 1875
Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement; can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die;
"It is finished"; was His cry;
Now in heav'n exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
(Go to the Cyberhymnal now, to hear the melody for this hymn!)
