for my far away friend
Tonight you held my hand while we
Reluctantly acknowledged the onset of
November.
Sitting quietly before the window in
your room
Facing the northern sky,
Anabal's house was silhouetted darkly
Against the winter night;
Only the stars could tell one from
the other.
My heart has welcomed this moment of
Stillness with you;
You are truly my friend.
You may leave your tears on my face.
May I leave my hand in your hand
For awhile longer?
