Egret

           All she knows
                      is when she must
                      build the seasonal nest.
          She has no plans, no grand designs,
                      just a simple need
                      to build a nest.
          She does not ask permission
                      of reeds, twigs or marsh;
          She takes whatever freely yields
                      and does the deed she must.
