Bound
I heard you in the whisper
Of a Dublin mist.
In the patter of song and autumn rain.
Oklahoma highway.
Miles of icy asphalt between
Here and home,
This heart and these hands.
Warmth weakened by the
Sting of morning's bite.
And I wonder if I'm
Freezing from the inside out.
Still
Looking for God
In the auburn blur
Of daybreak.
And missing you.
From this ill-fitting
Bible Belt and these
Fading corduroy plains
Of Oklahoma.
