1/2 cup butter
1 tspn. baking soda
1 cup sugar (whatever)
1 tspn. salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (I like more)
1 cup mashed banana
1 tspn. vanilla
2 cups sifted flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs, mashed bananas, then dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Stir in chopped nuts. Fold into greased and floured loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Serve sliced and spread with real butter. Also good muffin recipe (makes about 12); change bake time to about 30 minutes to compensate.
